Default C220 EPS warning light

Hi Mar

Hopefully you will be able to give me some advice with my problem.

I had all 4 tyres changed last weekend, and also had the tracking looked at while I was there. As I left the fitters the 'EPS - visit workshop' warning light came on. They said it was coincedence, I am not so sure. It now comes on and goes off at will. The fitters tested it with a Bosch diagnostic machine, but found no faults!

Do you have any ideas what the problem is and how I can make it go away?

I would be grateful for any help.

Thanks and regards

mark

Exclamation Esp

Hi Masterbenz

I have a 2001 C200 Kompressor. After travelling approx 150/200mile the instrument cluster displays ESP Malfunction visit workshop. Once the car is turned off for a while the malfunction 1 disappears. On initial starting of the car and turning the ESP switch off the warning display (yellow) lights up as normal. However after the 1-200miles and the malfunction comes up, turning the ESP switch does nothing (ie the warning signal does not appear). The manual states that when this happens the ESP is not working? Can you help me/ thanks for any advice.

Karl

Default transmission issue

I have a 1995 c280 and all of a sudden it will not shift into reverse or park with the engine on. But if I turn the engine off and key switch off then on without starting it will shift.

My main problem is that my car will randomly not start. No rhyme or reason to it. It's been happening for about 2 months every week or so. There aren't any pending codes. The car turns over and cranks but won't start. I've taken it to the Mercedes dealership and a German Automotive specialist. Dealership told me it was the battery, which we replaced, still having the problem. German automotive told me the fuel pumps, we replaced both.. still having problem. We put the stock Mercedes fuel pumps back in. Crankshaft positioning sensor was replaced about a year ago... Plus we can get the car to start with starter fluid. The European Auto mechanic place (third one it's been too) said it shouldn't be the sensor because if that was faulty there wouldn't be a spark to start the fluid. Now it's been at the European automotive for about a week. When the car first got there it wouldn't start, now it does, And has been since the first day it got there. With no codes and the car back to starting again he said there's nothing he can do. I did have a problem at one point amidst all this with the car starting, but then right away sputtering down and shutting off. I tried to start it like 5 times, kept doing the same thing. Then after sitting for about 10 min, it let me start the car and rev the gas (before the gas pedal wasn't even working) and as long as I kept the RPM's up for the next 5 min or so, it ran. We aslo checked the fuel pump relay switch and the fuel lines. No one can help me!

I am trying to find out the best/safest way to bypass the sls on my 1984 300TD Wagon. What shocks are compatible and can hold the load, and what are the potential problems with removing the hydraulic pump and placing a cover plate over the void?

Hi Mar,

I recently purchased a 93 300e 2.8. 80K, nice shape.

On a short 20 mile trip, car began to idle extremely roughly, to the point where it would not stay running unless I kept revs up a bit.

I replaced the Mass Air Sensor just now. Problem remains.

Do I have to somehow reset the computer telling it a new air mass sensor has been installed? OR....any other ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have.

Patrick

Hello, can you assist me with how to replace the lock for the hatchback of a 2002 C 230 Sport Coupe. I have the handle out and have most of it disassembled, but need to transfer the lock from the old to the new. Is this possible to do and if so how do I do it? Thanks Dwight
