I have decided to buy a 2-3 year old manual SLK 200. However in researching the market I have been advised that production quality deteriorated for a period when MB sub contracted manufacture to E europe and quality /reliability fell. Could anyone share any experience of this and indicate when MB changed sourcing of parts.

I would also like to hear about experience with the optional extras particularly the air scarf and recommendations as to which options are of real benefit.
