C320 Ignition Switch - Starter Stays Engaged
My daughter's 2002 C320 (92K miles) is getting the PO341 Camshaft Sensor error. No performance problems, but sometimes problems starting (which research [here] has shown is probably related to the CS sensor and I will troubleshoot/replace this week.) My concern is that when the engine does not start, the starter stays engaged until you turn the ignition switch all the way back to the off position. That is, even though the key is released to the on position, the starter is still engaged, spinning the engine as if the key is being held in the starting position. When the engine does start, the starter disengages with seemingly no problems. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks.

My 2002 clk430 is acting wierd all of a sudden. The starter engages but it wont start then 5 hours later no problems. The other day it started but wouldn't go into gear untill I shifted r-d and back again. I feel today may have been an anti-theft thing, maybe I am wrong, as far as the not going into gear no idea. Any input??? PLEASE!!
