1999 Mercedes-Benz C230 Timing Chain and Engine gone after 84k Miles
I just bought a 99 Benz C-230 and the timing chain broke. My mechanic told me i should just get a used engine. He said even if I replace the chain there could be other things wrong with the car such as the valve hit the pistons.
But it only has 84k miles...
I can get the timing chaing installed parts and labor for $160 - $200
Used motor 110k miles parts and labor for $1000
What you guys think? Is it worth the gamble for $200 ?
Also is this a Interference Engine?

It is interference engine, exhaust valves probibily hit , but have your mechanic look and see if they did. Pull valve cover off and inspect.
Chain does not just brake , i would be looking at chain guides and chain tensioner

Doesn't matter. If the chain broke, your engine is most likely toast.
You can try the repairs you listed, but they might be waste of money. I would just shoot for replacing it.
Should be pretty easy to do an inspection, though, so start with that.
