Changing Sunroof motor

I have a 1986 300E and need to change the sunroof motor. Is it possible to leave in the existing cable and change only the motor. if so how do i remove the motor from the cable and tubing? THANKS

yes.

remove the big lock nut on the shaft.

Thank you sleepwalker is that the threaded bolt with the lock nut located in the middle of the unit (just under the sunrood motor)
