W124 '87 300E Blower motor motor intermittent then dead!
Hello. I have a 87 300E with the puch button climate control. A little while ago the blower motor would sometimes not start and sometimes would. Then one day it just stopped working all together. Reading the forums here I see that it may be the "porcupine" regulator. Before I spend the money on it is there anything else I could check? I have also noticed that when it did work, no air would come out of the bottom foot vents. Could it be the main control unit? Appreciate any help.

The fan of the climate control of my '88 300TE stops and goes on it's own. My guess is once the set temperature was reached the fan stops and back again later.... this is only my guess, so correct me if I'm wrong.

I have checked 1. Is the socond one also on the fuse box? I will look for it.
I know the fan does not go off after the desired temp is reached. For me the fan does not even come on.

The second fuse is located on top of the left side (driver side)fender inside the hood, besides the shock mount.
There is a little black plastic box (about 2in by 1in) When opened, you'll see a one inch long metal strip. Corrosion sometimes sets-in. Remove the fuse (2 screws), clean everything and try your blower.

I just had to change my motor. I was suffering the same problem. Thought it might be the blower regulator, but when I got the motor out it was shot. Had to drop in a new motor. I did it myself

Well the motor has started working again on its own. I am afraid to use the Auto button in fear that it might not start again. Could the regulator just need a thorough cleaning? Do we still think it is the regulator? I found the second fuse and it was nice and clean so I am still not sure.

OK...xb70valkarye...
when the fan stops and I want to activate it (because I don't want to wait), I hit the Auto button for few seconds and then it will cancel the cycle.... then I hit any other button I wnat with the fan blowing...
