I have a 1981 W123 240D. Does anyone have or know where I can find an upper alternator mounting bracket? It has a long adjusting bolt as part of the bracket. The bracket seems to be bent in some way. When I adjust the belt to proper tension the adjuster bolt is bent and the belt is almost rubbing against the alternator fan( the one behind the pulley on the alternator). Has anyone had a similar problem? Does anyone know what size belt is correct? I've been driving it like this but the clearance seems too small. The belt doesn't rub the alternator fan during normal operation but I notice a tiny amount of fraying on the edge of the belt. Any advice on this matter? Thanks.
