Default PLEASE HELP...REALLY LOST ABOUT RIMS

hello to all. i was checking out some tires for my 1989 300ehttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TODAY.m238.lVI(RIM 1)and wondering if they will fit. Im looking for some wheels but i dont know what the word "offset" means and why it makes a big deal. I thought wheel spacers fixed all problems. If these wont work can someone explain to me why and what "offset" range i should be looking for. I will settle for these if they will fithttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TODAY.m238.lVI(RIM 2)but i really want 17's or 18's. I put some wheels i had in the garage on and they bolt up but now my car makes a wierd squeaking noise now even with the oem rims back on[:@]. Any ideas on what I could have damaged? And what do spacers do?Thanks to all that listen.

offset only means that the tires would stick out a little more than the others it gives it a more classier look. I have a pair of 20' chrome rims mrr design gt1 with toyo tires paid 3100 for them looking for 2100 they would look nice on your e300 if your intersted feel free to contact me at 908-296-2814. or email me thanks
