Master Tech here to assist
the bose amp on the 99 ml320 is located under the passenger front seat in a box ......if you fit an after market cd you will need to check the feeds are the same in harness because one of the feeds from the harness plug will take a signal from radio to switch on the amp.....all the other speaker wires go through the amp so if the amp is not on you will get no sound...if the amp is switching on and you have a faulty amp you could bypass so speaker wires do not go through amp!
After getting a readings of P0141 on my 1997 C230, my mechanic has replaced my O2 sensors twice using Bosch OE O2 Sensors. Each time the Code comes back within a few miles. Clearly, the problem is not in the Sensor itself. Any thoughts?
Hi i had this problem before and the harness to the old sensor had rubbed and shorted causing a fuse to blow so the reset did not sense the new sensor after replacing the fuse...its worth looking at ..the tell tail sign would be to see if the harness on both sides that control the sensor is in good order....sometimes they come away from their fixings and because very close to exhaust heat this can be a big problem.
Hi Ian
I recently purchased a cool 1985 280SL Non USA car which runs great.
All the words on the dash are in german and I would like to know if the
380SL which looks the same as the 280SL is the same car as the 280.
I understand the 380SL repair and service manual is in english and I
would like to use it to do maintence on my 280sl. I was told the 280SL repair and service manual is in German language only, I need a schematic so i can hook up the wiring to the air conditioner to turn it on. The wire has been cut right behind the air compressor and there is no connection to be found where it was cut.

Hello Ian, Hope you have some thoughts on this post.
I have two 1979 MB's one is a 300SD and the other is a 450SL, both have the same problem, they always leave some transmission fluid on the garage floor.
The 300SD has been in the family since it was purchased new in 1979 and the 450SL I got about 10 years ago, they both have about 125,000 miles on them.
The 300SD has left small amounts of trans fluid under it for the life of the car
, and the 450SL does it too.
They both will do it till the dipstick reads 1/4 qt low then stop.
I have asked the dealer about it and they said it was a problem with that model year, when the car is sitting the torque converter overfills the trans and some fliud comes out.
So, is this true, is there any fix to stop it, or do I just drive them around a 1/4 qt low?
Any and all feedback is welcome..

I replaced my 95 SL's blower motor over the weekend... bought the car with it's a/c not functioning . So, after installing the replacement unit the a/c works reasonably well...but now the noise is awful. Not from the blower itself, but the sound of air moving thru the ducting...and the quantity of air exiting the vents seems kind of anemic. There's that, plus I have no control of where air flow exits..floor & defrost not working, just dash vents. It's so loud on #4, I cant make calls on my cell..or have normal conversations without shouting. #3 is better, but there's inadequate cold air volume for Florida days, even with the top and windows up!
Any ideas anyone?

i wanna say you have a bad EIS/ignition switch or a bad key.make sure you take all of keys to the dealership so they can proerly diagnose.
Hey there
I have a 2005 CLK 320 that has been making a chirping/ticking noise upon hitting the lock button on the key. When you lock it, it makes a sound like a bird or a ticking clock - it has been described differently by different people... but it goes on for a while before it shuts itself off. I would say at least five minutes or so.
I read a bunch of stuff on the web and seems like there is no definitive answer to this issue - people have said that it has something to do with the auxiliary battery in the trunk which powers the alarm?
I took it in to my guy about five days ago and he disagreed with that, but also didn't know exactly what it was either. He did something with some of the connecting wires having to do with the alarm system/horn - supposedly cleaned them and reconnected it. That worked for about four days - we didn't get any bird sounds from the car at all. But last night after it was locked it started the chirping again.
My mechanic said that his diagnostic machine doesn't do everything that the dealerships do so I am going to have to take it in I guess, but I was wondering if first you could tell me please what it might be?
Also - for anyone who may know this - what is the most reputable dealership in either Texas or Louisiana?
Thank you so much in advance - I really appreciate it!
