Hi all, I've been keeping an eye on the site for a while and found a lot of the information very useful. This would be my first post and I've just got a few questions. I am very new to the SLK scene so any help would be much appriciated. I have a 1999 SLK 230, white.

1. I was wondering where i could puchase the *SPORT* front bumper/sides/rear additions. My SLK has the ugly black plastic/rubber skirts and i hate it. I've seen many SLK's with the painted skirts and i think thats a very clean look. Seems like their only on the sports edition though. If someone is getting an aftermarket one i'd be happy to purchase their stock skirt from them. Or if there is an aftermarket full skirt that is similar to the sports one.

2. I've seen a few cars with the CLK front grill. I think that looks awesome. I was wondering how much alterations is needed to make the CLK grill fit.

3. Are there any good intakes made for the SLK, or are they just for show? Hows the install. I'm used to messing with imports and the Engine Bay of a SLK scares me. HAHA Do they make an drop in filter that helps power? (where can i purchase it, if there is one?)

4. What HID kit do you guys recommend for the SLK? Where could i get one?

1. you can go with Carlsson front & rear add-on spoilers with Carlsson side skirt.
2. Schatz make sports grille. Pls see the pic below.
3. I'd recommend using K&N replacement filter.
4. And yes, there is H7 HID kit available.

You could try looking on Lorinser.com for an authorized dealer that could provide you with front, rear and/or side skirts.

Formymercedes.com has SL grill options you could look at.

I recommend Philips Xenon H7 HID kit @ 6000K. I just put them in on my SLK and it was recommended by all the guys that do Hot Import Nights and other custom cars because of the reliable construction of the ballasts. And every other company compares themself to them.

I love the SL grills on MYMERCEDES.com, but their not avaliable. Wonder when they'll have it again ??

Also, i was wondering where i could get the CARLSSON kit ?? and is it an direct replacement for the black rubber skirts ??
