What is the engine type number of the 1998 SLK230? I need to know this in order to buy an oil filter wrench. I intend to change my oil with the help of an oil extractor machine. This is the first car I.ve fallen in love with in a long time. It's black with two tone red and black interior. I think it's just beautiful inside and out.

If you plan on using an extractor machine then you will need to pinch off a certain breather line or else your not going to suck much oil out of it. I would recommend draining it from the bottom on a kompressor engine.

 

Cheap strap wrench will remove the cap.
Extractors suck, lol, too slow.
Better to drain from drain plug in the bottom of the pan.
