Default RE: Vibration in my SL500

My first post here since I just bought a 1995 SL500, 64K. I picked it up and had about a 300 mile drive home. First thing I noticed at 60-65 mph was quite a bit of vibration/wobble through the steering wheel. Ok at 75 or 80 mph. So, I thought I would just have balance checked after I got home. Thesr also are relatively new performance tires but on 17 inch wheels vs 16 inch oem. Well the next morning I checked tire pressure and it was low on every tire...20lbs front and about 20-25 on rear. Put in 30 on front and 33 on rear and vibration gone. However, I do agree that these type tires transmait a lot more vibration and road feel than higher profile tires.

Sure is different than my 95 E420 I jsut sold, but I like it better.

Default Vibration on Silverarrow

I have the same problem, my silver arrow with 98000 miles vibrates on speeds over 60 miles, tires are new and balanced and replaced and rebalanced once, no use. Why would I need high speed tires if it gets scary over 60 miles. Is eveyone with Silver arrow have this problem, is this normal? Help please

my problem turned out be the company's old obsolete spin balancer. it worked ok for other kinds of cars, but these cars are very sensitive and the balance has to be right on. I went back a few times before Schwab got a new electronic balancer and that solved the problem. at any speed, it's wonderful with these 245 40 18s. I fought this problem for years and it was the balance all the time.
