Drivers Side Power Window inop

Drivers Side Power Window inop
I own a 85 380SL, 185K miles and last week there was a "pop" as I raised my drivers side window. The window then simply settled all the way down.
I checked out the window when I got home, and the window is fine, the motor is fine, but there is a sheared metal piece that looks like it holds the window bar into the power gear mechanism.
Is there a way to replace this part? Are there some instructions that detail how to remove the window and power window framing?
thanks,

RE: Drivers Side Power Window inop
I just got my 92 500 SL back on Tuesday for an inop drivers side window. Turns out the plastic gear had gotten moisture in it and basically rusted so that the motor could no longer turn the mechanism. My mechanic told me that many time this will also "bend" the metal arm that moves the window up and down resulting in the arm getting stuck on another part of the door. My mechanic also told me that if you keep pushing the window button sometimes this will actually crack the window too! My advice is to take it in and have them fix it. My motor alone cost $264 bucks, but it works perfect now.
