at first I noticed a little flickering from my dome light at idle, at the time I didn't think anything about it until it finally went out. when it finally goes it won't take long to drain your battery and your dash will light up. The sbc will go, brake warning lights and battery light, then comes the alternator warning and you have at most an hour to replace the alternator even with a full battery charge. replacing it isn't all that easy either. first the alternator is in very tight where it mounts. if you remove without removing hoses you can manipulate through the hoses toward the front. you need to remove fan assembly. the dome light doesn't flicker anymore after replacing and all is well again in the universe
