Default Weird noise, help!

Hello all....

My 2000 S430 with 88,000 miles makes a weird noise lately....a whirling spaceship sound when the climate control is on...you do not hear it when driving at speed but when slow or stopped it is annoying and passengers sometimes even comment. Everything works great with the climate control...

Any ideas? I hate to fix something that is not broken but perhaps the fan is going out soon?

Could be AC fan motor brushes.
Could be leaf or similar on blades.
Could be control servo motor.

Sure the plenum (air intake) chamber DRAIN is clear. You can test by pouring water into grill in front of screen and ensure water doesn't collect. Maybe you will even find the chamber full of water already. If the drain is blocked water can easily get into the fan motor / inside the cabin.

Sounds exactely like what my 2000 S430 did a month ago. Turns out the bearings in the blower motor were going bad and they ended up replacing the whole thing. $1000 at the stealership, but luckily my extended wrranty covered it!! The noise was annoying as hell!!
