I have seen some more pictures in one of the auto mags, and it is a nice car, except it looks like an overgrown Toyota Avalon, especially in the front. The headlights remind me of the way hollywood depicted the Japanese during in those old WWII movies. Which for the record I never approved of. The CLE? or do you mean the CLS, which is out and is a 4door that is supposed to look like a 2 door, what is the CLE?

From Automobile Mag. The 2007 Mercedes CLE

Following the lead of its new CLS, the E-class-derived four-door coupe, Mercedes-Benz is planning a four-door, C-class-based coupe called the CLE to shake up the next generation of its smallest range, which arrives in mid-2006.

The CLE will utilize now-trendy rear suicide doors in a slick, low-slung package. Engines will range from a supercharged 170-hp, 1.8-liter direct-injection four to a 390-hp, 5.5-liter AMG V-8. To save costs, the CLE will use the roof of the next CLK coupe.

Suicide doors. Looks like they may work like the truck suicide doors? That is, the front door needs to be opened first. I don't like mine in a parking lot (my truck). It gets akward sometimes trying to get something onto the back seat when a car is parked next to it, especially when you have a shopping cart.

Plus, it has those same huge wheel well accents as the new S-class. They're bigger than the ones on my truck.

The CLE is small, like the C-class (and lenth about the CLK). Those wheel wells are probably not that big but looks large on that small car.

It's not a terribly ugly car, but let's just say it probably would look much nicer to me from the inside looking out, than the outside looking in.

for some reason I do not like the interiors of all the new models. They all look like each other and the material used are very similar. I think BMW is still better in terms of interior. Except for the new 3 series, their interior is crap.

Maybe the Chrysler influence is too strong?
