Default 2000 S500 Sitting Super LOW. Airmatic Issue

Hi there, this is my first post so here goes. I know this issue has been talked about extensively in these forums but I havent been able to find out a true fix.

I just bought a 2000 S500 with airmatic this week. The car is beautiful and only has 46k miles. Every morning when I go out to the car it sits super super low on all fours. Almost as if the tires are touching the inside aprons. When I unlock the door it starts to raise and after I start it it takes only 30 seconds to get to normal height. I don't have to push the button.

It takes about 6-10 hours for the car to sink so low, but once up it runs beautifully. The air compressor is not running extensively and I only hear it when I start up the car in the morning.

Please help!

first check the tops of the front struts and see if they are cracking. or pour water over them while car is running at proper level and see if you see any bubbles.

Default Same thing!

I too have a 2000 S5000 with same problem! I have to push the button on the dash to raise. Then while driving last week a heard a big explosion in the rear pass side strut. The the rear ens sunk. Now the car is sitting all the way down on all four wheels. I need a rear strut, and the front two struts are leaking through the strut tower caps!! I'm in Dallas area. Labor?? Parts ?? TB

I believe it's your struts or a small leak in the air lines. As long as it raises up your Golden. My Benz did the same thing.

you can replace your struts with strut master springs so you never have to worry about air shocks leaking, or your pump going out.
