Default ML430 E brake Sensor

Hello all, my ebrake sensor just started making a beeping sound indicating replacement (annoying as I can't drive more than 30 miles without it going off, and the only way to get it to stop is to pull over shut the car off so it resets then go again after a few). I checked all pads and ebrake lines and everything is okay. I've called the local dealer who indicated I would need to replace the Master cylinder where the e-brake sensor is located at a cost of $1200. Ridiculous to replace the whole thing if you can disconnect the sensor. Anyone ever run into this issue? Please tell me how to disconnect or remove the sensor... Please help. Thanks in advance!

@forcedinduction >>> isn't there another way to get the warning indicator to stop sounding? As I said, there is nothing mechanically wrong with the ebrake or cables. And how is this a major safety device if its not monitoring the functionality of the ebrake anyway?

Doesn't anyone have any other input here or should I remove the master cylinder and remove the sensor inside it. I failed to mention that last July I replaced all rotors and pads and had started soon after that. Any help, again is greatly appreciated.
