How easy is it to replace the two front door tweeters? Also, what size are they? I went on crutchfield and they said that no aftermarket tweeters matched theones in my 2002 ML320.

I have a 2002 ml320...I think the tweeter replacement is essential for a simple and groove first step to better sound. I removed my sail panels from the door by gently pulling from the top of the panel. Next, unplug the tweeter at the connection, now you have the panels ready to hit the workbench. Remove the old tweeter, you will soon see that its a very common but pile of **** unit. I had a pair of Vifa tweeters on hand from a previous project that were gonna find their way in very nicely. I used a holesaw and cut through the flange that held the old tweeter in place and was exactly the right dia as the new Vifa. I soldered a 4uf filter cap to the positive lead on the Vifa then slid the new unit into the hole that I made in tha panel, I hot glued the tweeter in place, soldered the wire and plug in place and reinstalled the sail panels. When I fired the new tweeters up I was amazed at the difference. So much more detail and balanced out nicely with the existing system...so far thats all Ive done and will do the rear ones soon once I figure how to remove them....The tweeters are available from Madisound, look for Vifa car tweets and you will be happy...have a nice day
