Hi guys,

I am new to this forum so please bare with me!

I have a 2007 Mercedes GL 420 CDi 78k with a D8 Brabus kit installed which normally works fine, however in the last 8-9 months it has started to force the car into limp mode completely randomly, possibly more often after the car has either been idling or coasting.

The car has been into Mercedes for weeks at a time to the extent they put it onto a VIP status and I get priority service assistance now (whoop-di-doo!). Since the car with last with them - June this year, the car has been fine.

Today the problem returned on a drive to London and back (60 miles), 3 times when pulling away from the lights and twice on the motorway after coasting then flooring it. A restart ALWAYS resets it to normal driving again. It doesn't happen for weeks and then you get days like these when it happens all the time and quite frankly it's a bit dangerous.

Is there anything I can check on the car myself or ask a local tech to try out on the vehicle as this is driving me up the wall. I love the car, but it does like the service department a little too much for my liking!
