Hi, I got a 51 plate Mercedes C220 CDI. Since I bought it the gearbox wasnt working properly. It was slipping to neutral if I pressed the pedal to hard. Now the automatic transmission is in limp mode, which means its stuck in 2nd gear. Tip tronic wont work either.

Mercedes dealer came up with foults:

P2500 - the transmission has an impermissible transmission ratio
P220A - The speed comparison of Y3/6n2 to Y3/6n3 is implausible
P2602 - The voltage supply of the valves is faulty
P2502 - The gear is implausible or the transmission is slipping


The mechanic in the mercedes dealer told me that he has no idea what is wrong with the car, and he would change the whole gearbox, but their quote is much higher than I paid for the whole car. I think it might be the gearboxes TCU. Any ideas?

i ve exactly the same codes and problem as above on my c220 cdi 2002 model.
i had the fluid and the filter changed. drove the car for about 25 miles and the car gearbox will not upshift the gear. it is allowing me to drive at 30 to 40 miles ph. there is no messages on the dashboard display (ie. LIM)
i called the rac and the rac man had no idea.
