Run hot ? My first one. Can't even run the A/C. And forget Idling - Wow, does it get hot. And someone please tell me what the ABS light is ? I have a lot to learn...It has no pick up at all either == Its like its going uphill all the time - Please be patient.

No it should not run above normal operating temperature as stated in the manual and the ABS light means there is a fault in the Anti Lock Brake system also year and model is helpful in the future.

 

It's a good idea to have a used, new to you car, inspected. Checked for fluid levels, drivability issues etc. Personally it's a good idea to ask for service records when purchasing a used car. It tells you if the car was well maintained by the previous owner, if the owner supplies these records. In todays car market where leases of high end cars like Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, etc,. are generally a car rental until the lease is up, maintanence is usually neglected since the car is just driven during this time period of the lease....I personally have seen lease return vehicles with as little as three oil services during it's 3 year leased life with 40,000+ miles on the odometer! Tell me you"d buy that if you knew that service history! Just get the car checked by a Qualified trusted technician as soon as possible to minimize engine damage!

I know that feeling your talking about in an old Benz. When you hit the gas it feels like your going uphill all the time and normally the engine is louder and you can feel it. You have to realize your car is 18 years old, the only reason your car is still on the road is because its a Benz
