HELP ME PLEASE ANYONE
the EIS is already the problem.
it just goes into sleep mode and cannot wake up.
try pushing the inside of the switch with your little finger or a pen and see if the instrument cluster wakes up. if it does, then you can still start the car.
replacing the EIS is easy but you need green key if star diagnosis is not available to read and transfer coding.
only the dealer can supply you both.
the steering lock is electronic. just tow the car by either disconnecting the propeller shaft or towing the rear end.
sorry about your troubles.

andy, according to your VIN, the car is already using EIS (electronic ignition switch) which is not programmable.
*as i say, try using another key (you got 3).
**check that the battery is okay and connectors.
i think the EIS is faulty
if you insert the key on the ignition, any telltale signals?

is that 3 electronic keys or 2 electronic and one mechanical that is embeded in an electronic one? When I bought my car second hand, i only got two electronic keys with a mechanical one in one of them. Should I ask for a third??
from year 2000, they only include 2 electronic keys with of course a mechanical key on each plus a spare key or valet key depending on waht model.
before 2000, 3 is always included. you can always oreder an additional of up to 8 keys or replacement of up to 3 keys each. that's 24 keys but can only use 5 at the same time.
if there's 3 people using the car, then you can get additional key.

Mercedes keeps record of the keys for cars they make. So just go to any Mercedes dealer and they can contact the people in Germany and duplicate it for you. The price varies from dealer to dealer, the least expensive I've heard was $130 USD. (SmartKey) My mom ordered a fold-key that folds into the remote control in Taiwan, and dealer asked for almost $200USD (&7,000NTD)
If your car use Smartkeys, you should have two smartkeys and a smartkey-looking key holder thats holds a key just like the ones in the smartkeys.
