Default Fuel issue I think. Need help!

Drove my 92 300E up to Hurricane Ridge. Cool day. Drove fine up the mountain. Drove down without any issue although I was coasting in 3rd gear most of the way. At the bottom and at a stop sign, the engine stumbled and would hardly move the car. Put it in 1st gear and finally took off. Continued to run very poorly for 5 or 10 minutes and then smoothed out. It felt like vapor lock but the pumps provide more fuel than needed and is circulated back to the tank. Ran OK for next 30 miles. Only 48K miles on the car. So where do I start?

Fuel pumps, accumulator, pressure regulator, MAS, fuel filter????? Almost impossible to buy non alcohol gasoline in Washington, could that be causing a problem? New injectors 10K ago. Plan to test fuel pressure running and residual pressure but after that what next? All input appreciated.

Hello - have you checked the MAF for any vacuum/air leaks? Did you get a check engine light on the dash? I'm attaching a link to our site's DIY tech articles on the W124 platform to help you with any maintenance or repair procedures down the line.

No engine light. Not sure about the MAF vacuum/air leaks. I did not think 1992 300E's had a MAF. There is a sensor in the air intake that I will be sure it is clean. Thanks for the input.
