Default 94 E320 intermittent no start and missing at idle, sluggish off the line

I had wrote a couple weeks ago about my 320 not starting sometimes and the engine will cough and stumble, at idle with it in gear(automatic), and when you stepped on the throttle off the line it would stumble and sometimes pop like a backfire. I had it into a mechanic and he said it threw a MAF sensor code but as he was looking it over, found the connector for the crank sensor(up by the battery box, was not snapped together. So, I replaced the MAF sensor, as it probably needs it, I have 140,000+ in miles, and snapped the connector back together for the crank sensor. It continued to miss and cough while idling, only sometimes and I couldn't pin it down to when it was warm or cold but it seemed to mainly do it when it was warm. It seemed it was starting every time until last week. I noticed when it wouldn't fire that the tach needle wouldn't move at all. Now the thing will not start at all, cranks but no fire-tach needle doesn't move when cranking. Is there an ignition module on these that could have took a dump? Please help.
