Hi,

The loss of power is intended. Known as Limp Home.

A restart clears the Limp Home till you experience the fault again.

Multi cylinder misfire. Mmmm.

I'm beginning to think that NAZ was right on the button. I wonder how he managedto go straight there?

Ideally before buying a new MAF you need to observe O2 signal and LTFT Long Term Fuel Trim data.

However NAZ went straight for the MAF so I believe he has a point. Misfire is usually created due to Xcess weak mixture which in turn is linkedto mixture feedback as measuredby the O2 sensors and MAF.

I have a 2000 E320 4matic wagon as well. I boutht it with 118k miles and a week after driving it off the lot - it died on the side of the road.

local mechanic replaced the cam and crank sensors. now seems to up and running.

any other experiences with repairs on this model?

He ripped you off, that is the experience with this model!!!!!!!!!Either it was the crank sensor or the cam sensor. Why did he replace both?Because he could, that's why!!!!!!!!!!
Lesson learned, check this forum or benzworld.org w210 forum or mbworld.org w210 forum before you ever have anything done by a shop.
How much did he charge you?
Are you the diy type?
You can save hundreds if not thousands of dollars by doing your own maint issues and easy repairs like the cps and the cam p.s.

Clear those codes again after you make sure the coil packs are hooked up correctly, clean the maf and get back to the forum, someone will get to the bottom of this!
