Navigation system - most useless piece of crap
The navigation in this car is so utterly useless, it's absurd. How on earth did this thing get put into production?
OK, so maybe saying utterly useless is a bit of an exaggeration. But, the way they designed it makes it seem impossible to use to find the nearest destination. For instance, if you are looking for a Ralph's, rather than list the closest Ralph's to you, it gives you 100 different Ralph's to choose from, listed in alphabetical order according to their street address... Yeah, real useful. It also doesn't seem to let you enter an exact destination address, just a range. WHY?!?!
Of all the GPS systems I have used, from other auto makers to the stand-alone Garmin units, this is by far the worst. Also, no touch screen????? What the hell Mercedes???

RE: Navigation system - most useless piece of crap
Sounds like a waste of money!
I have a Garmin Nuvi 660 portable unit that goes from car to car and has a bunch of extra features. I would pass on any factory navigation system after using a portable. You can update the software free from their website. An update for my wife's Acura would cost more than a few bucks. See the review on Cnet.
