Backup Camera - useless ??
I've noticed that when the vehicle is first started and put into reverse, the Nav/Radio displays a couple splash screens for nearly seven seconds before showing the rear view on the camera.
By that time, most drivers have already started backing, or maybe even completed backing up, so the camera is really only useful if you've been driving for a while, then decide to parallel park, or back up for some other reason.
Has anyone had their dealer disable the splash screens? Wouldn't it be reasonable for the camera to over-ride the splash screens? My dealer said it takes a while for the Nav/radio to "boot up", but I don't see why the camera shouldn't over-ride the splash screens, especially since it's a safety feature!
