1995 E320 tire and wheel size 205/55-16 will they fit?
Hello this is my first post and hopefully this is the correct place for this question. I went to an online tire place today to order snow tires and wheels and selected 16x7 inch wheels and snow tires - Size: 205/55R16. When I went to check out a message read "This wheel and tire selection is NOT recommended for this vehicle as the tires will stick out of the wheel well and contact it under full load or full compression" (paraphrased). So now I'm in a quandary as the only three wheels and tires that are available are 15" and in a stock OE version wheel design and one in black and the other in bronze. Also the OE design 15" wheel is twice the price of a 16" wheel.
The question I have "will a 16'x7" wheel and 205/55-16 tire fit and have no issues on my 1995 E320?"
Thank you in advance for any help
Mike

don't know. you left out critical information which is the offset of the wheels you're thinking of purchasing. note the stamped information on the rear of your stock wheels. it should include ET-offset number...which your prospective wheel should try to replicate
Hi Raymond, thanks for the reply and the heads up on the off-set. I ordered the wheels and tires and they are due tomorrow from the online tire store. I went to the wheel manufacture's official site and it confirmed the wheels should fit without issues (fingers crossed) and also talked to the OL tire store and they guaranteed they will fit and I can return them if they don't and they will pay for any expense doing so. The off-set from what I can find for the O.E. wheels without removing mine seems to be 38mm and the new 16" wheels are 40mm? I should pull the spare wheel out of the trunk but I'll just wait until tomorrow when I install the new wheels and tires. The official wheel manufacture site is actually awesome as it shows every Mercedes (world-wide) vehicle with all of the specifications from engines to wheels to weight, etc., You can change colors of the vehicle, put the wheels on the car and raise and lower the car too. Go to "Configurator" and click on the Mercedes logo (or any other brand) and have fun fitting wheels on your car.
Thanks again and I'll follow up with the fitment and how it goes.
Mike
