Smile Searching for the right car

HI I am looking at early 2000 models, higher miles but lower costs. Should I be concerned about costs of repairs and maintenance that would price me out of this car, over time??

Blessings,

Well, what size are you looking for? Small, medium, large? 4 cyl, 6 or 8? Personally, i would avoid the 2000 build, at the same time when looking for a car, you can either go high mileage modern (2001+) or low mileage but pre 2000. More info on what your looking for would help

Smile Searching

Hi ...

Initially I was looking @ small C-sedans, as I didn't think I'd find an E in my price range. $5-$6K. So price being the determiner, I am trying to make the "smartest" choice possible. Thanks for the "heads up" re: pre-2000's ...that being the guideline I guess I just need to keep looking for 2001+ @ the right price.

I do appreciate your time and assistance, and any other info you can throw my way...

Blessings!

Depending on which country you are from, I presume your from the US? You can bag quite a few good bargains. As for the C-Class, for the price you would probably be looking at high mileages but if they have a log book+ service history, this shouldn't be too much of an issue. Also consider the 2001 E240, these are clean cars but you would most likely need to check for rust around the fenders and jacking points, also a point to check would be the bottom corner of the passenger doors. Don't be afraid to get an older C, such as a 94-98, for the price they would offer you lower mileage examples with solid build quality.
