After searching I still have questions about my E-320's sunroof
Hello all,
I own a 98' E-320 with 43,000 miles (still has the original battery). Recently the sunroof started opening less and less. It pops up and closes without difficulty, but right now itwill only move back about 6 inches.I have searched around on different sites trying to find some answers. I thought this was pretty helpfulhttp://buymbparts.com/forum/showthread.php?t=656. However, I do not think based on the symptomsand considering the mileage on the vehiclethatthere is any serious problem.
First thing I want to try is lubing the sunroof railswithMB Gleitpaste. It is $74 bucks at the local MB dealership. In order to lube the rails the sunroof has to be open all the way. I attempted to use the Manuel crank but again the sunroof would only open about 6 inches. Can I hold the button and force it back?Or could I just lube the rails I have access too and move the sunroof back & forth? Also, is there special procedureforlubing the rails?
ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!
Thanks in advance,
James
