Been looking at a 2 owner '97 c280 with 84,000 miles. Car looks clean and drives well, at least on the short test drives. The only thing I can eyeball is some oil drops, on the underbelly splash pan. Dealer claims it's just from oil changes, but I have my doubts. Before I buy it, I'm having a local garage, that specializes in upscale cars like MB give it an inspection. Is there anyhing specific I should have them look at other than the usual? The usual to me includes compression check, brake condition, condition of AT fluid, etc.. Are there any re-call or service bulletin issues I need to be aware of? The dealer spiked my normally suspecious nature even higher with his 50/50 warranty plan on just this vehicle in his lot!
