To ease your worries, go to www.formymercedes.com & buy aluminun door pins. Install these on your doors. When locked, the door cannot be opened manually from inside, only by the push-button. Does that help?

And there we have it!!!!

Are you talking about these? A kid can just pull those up and open the door. They aren't child safety locks. Am I missing something?

A kid with a good set of teeth wouldn't have a problem opening that. A really smart one would unscrew it a little first.

Lugnut, stop making things difficult for us. Why would anyone travel with a smart & a dumb kid.
Enuf with the jokes - When mine lock, they are flush with the top of the door panel so it is impossible to open, even by an adult with long fingernails.

It's "difficult" for you? Well, gee whiz. Does it hurt when someone disagrees with you?

The fact is that those ARE NOT child safety or childproof locks. To attempt to pass them off as such is irresponsible at best and dangerous at worst. Do not pretend to be an authority on this subject. The sellers at the link you provided are smart enough not to make such an outrageous claim as you're making.

Why would anyone travel with a smart & a dumb kid.
This is an extremely stupid statement, don't you think? What would you do then? Would you only travel with one at a time? Would you not travel with either because one is smart and one is dumb. Are you saying all your kids are dumb so you can travel with them? What the heck are you saying? Crimminy.

Nowhere in the owners manual is there a mention of settings for Child lock.

I dont see any lever which can be set on the side of my rear door. I will take a picture and try to attach it later in the post.
What a ridiculous thread - of course the car has child locks!

NO AUTO LOCK feature - atleast in my 2004 C320 4matic .

I happened to notice this right when i bought the car and read the manual.

I usually park my car in the train station and sometimes used to forget to lock it since i am in a hurry to catch the train.... early moring rush rush....

You would expect that if you happen to FORGET to lock the car it will lock after a few mintues - MERCEDES SECURITY .... Right........WRONG......It will keep the car unlocked........try it....

The only time it auto locks itself - so called autolock feature, is if you have a locked car and you unlock it using your remote and if there is no activity on an unlocked car, then it will auto lock itself after 45 secs.

Solution:
I always make sure and remember to lock my car - it only takes a few seconds....
Jeez - I suppose it's a problem that Auto doesn't mean it automatically drives itself everywhere! Why would you want it to autolock on parking? Imagine how often people would accidentally lock their keys in the car.
