No, Wheaties.
Just please don't try to pass off something that's sold in the same aisle as the triple-bladed neon windshield wipers and faux cellphone antennas as a child safety or childproof lock modification. This is a serious topic.

This is a serious topic.
Did the OP get a specially built car without them? Or does he just not know where to look?

Man, I don't know why I always attract the members with the lowest reading comprehension skills. Rory, you are a true moron.
Can you not tell by reading the posts what the issue is here? Can you not tell what the question is? If someone asks a question it doesn't make the topic "stupid."
Try to do something useful with your time, *** wipe. If you want to help, tell everybody where the child lock levers are on every C-class. Real simple, don't you think? Otherwise, STFU.
So far you've made two posts and all we know is that you're an idiot.

Lugnut, i was not trying to pass anything off as child safety. Read my earlier post. I was merely stating to Cooldude what I have to prevent children opening the door when the car is in motion and it works for me! If it doesn't work for anybopdy else too bad.
I f youalso read my post carefully I separated the joke from the response to Cooldude. Have you no sense of humor? i've read a lot of your replies and it seems you are well versed in the workings of our cars but you also take things too seriously!
As I stated earlier, Lighten up! Life's too short.

This topic is about factory installed childproof door locks that can't be tampered with when the door is closed. Though the door pins you use make it more difficult to unlock the door, they don't prevent it. They are "dress up" items. That's why the manufacturer and seller don't make any such claims and it's also why I take issue with your claims. Don't make this about me and my sense of humor. You made a bogus claim and I called you on it. Too bad if that doesn't work for you.

I got no more to say about this Lugnut. It seems as if you got too much time on your hands to rant about trivial nonsense - Go jump in the lake and take my door pins with you!
600 Pullman yeah right!

Boy. I guess you told me, eh?
At any rate, I think everybody got the point. Your door pins have nothing to do with child safety, a topic you consider "trivial nonsense."

My 1979 W123 has a child lock in the form of a small plastic lever near the catch.
I don't believe MB went retro (early 1960s) to remove this important feature.
I have never used this since I have had only smart kids sitting in the car.
After reading this thread and the hoo haa following it, I have checke with my 2002 C200.
It has a child lock concealed in a slit (more or less rectangular hole) just above the door catch.
So I would assume other C-class too would have that.
You guys should look at the this slit in the door frame and look carefully into it.
You will see a black rod (may be metal may be plastic) inside the slit that could be moved to activate the child lock.
If you just lock the doors (as the car does automatically at speeds above 20kph, all doors can be opened from the inside
individually by using the door open lever. It is not meant to be child proof.
SHAN.

That's where everyone is assuming it is (everyone that's following the conversation instead of being a bubblehead, that is). For some reason, Cooldude can't find it. He was supposed to take a pic but I haven't seen one yet. That would tell us if he's looking in the right place. I thought these childproof locks were on all recent cars, not just M-Bs, so I was surprised by this thread.
