Hey I have a 01 C240 which runs good. I have this problem when ever I turn the car on I hear a noise thats sounds like

click, click, click, click and it goes on for about 1-2 mins. The noise comes from where the ignition key is or under the dash board. Does anyone know what this can be? thanks

 

Does clicking sound speed increase as you drive?
Maybe its one of your belts? Have you had them inspected? You might want to take it to the Mercedes dealer. They are always sending me coupons for a free inspection. They will at least trouble shoot it for you.

 

I had a simular noise on my 02 230 coupe, it turned out to be a plastic tag on the drive shaft that should have been removed before the heatshield was installed. It drove me crazy until I tracked the noise down. The dealer fixed it for free and my car was no longer under warranty. good luck!

in my c class it was an internal a/c vent that the linkage went out on. Its actually at the dealer getting fixed right now, is around $250.

 

hey sorry for the late reply I have been working well this is what happens.

When I turn the car on I hear a click sound from under the dash board some one said it can be that the stapper motor is faulty what is this also I took it to the shop because my car would turn off and would not turn back on I had to leave it for a while then I could turn it on, it ended up being the electrical wiring costed $635 but now if I drive it after a while my car does something weird the power to the turn signals, gas meter, emergency light and key buttons dont work do. They told me one of the computers on the car is bad but this never happened before I took it in what can be wrong, some one said it can be a relay.
