I have a 99 C230, and I can not figure out how to let the back seat down. My trunk will not open and yes my manual is in the trunk

Is your model with Fixed rear seat or with Folding rear seat? I got instructions how to remove rear seat for both models.

 

Looks like your ride is the same as mine. I thought my rear seat would fold down, but it did not. Based on the manual I have, you must have two levers at both upper sides of the truck. I checked out mine, which didn't have the levers.
Well, that's my case. Your ride might have different options. Hopefully...
