There is a nice 2001 C240 for sale in my area that I noticed. It looks really sharp with 18' Carlsson wheels,Carlssonsuspension package that lowered it 1.5 inches and anice spoiler kit and side skirts. The car only has 43,000 miles and looks nearly perfect inside and out. It drives really nice. I just wanted to know if there is anything to look out for in an '01 C240 since I have never owned a Mercedes before. I called a few auto shops and a few of them said the power seats were a problem and some minor electrical stuff. Is there anythingelse that is problematic. I seequite a few C class out there so I am guessing they must be a pretty good car since there are so many. Any thoughts goodor bad would be appreciated.

the w203 have had problems, if i were you i would go for a w204(just came out)or 99 or 00 w202

 

I have C 240 2002, runs smooths, perfect mid size luxury car. No issues with power seats or anything.

 

I've been looking through all the old postings on this website and there is lots of good information. It seems like there is a mixed bag of opinion on reliability with the W203 C-Class. It seems some people either get lemons or gems. I really like the look of this 2001 C240 but I have been a little skeptical knowing that it was the first year of that body style, not to mention the fact that Mercedes are already more expensiveto repair than american or japaneese cars, but you can't beat the fit and finish of a german made car.

 

true, but i would at least check the mainteniance record first, make sure that it doesnt have a lot of problems. Though definentaly check out the w204, it looks so awesome, plus new technology.
