I am about 5 hours away from possibly purchasing a 2000 c230 mercedes with 25k miles. It is mint. Its straight from an ACURA dealership and is totaly legit. comes with 120 point inspection 3 month warranty and an option to extend it for a year. They want 16,000 taxes and tags out the door and wont budge. I looked at the BLUEBOOK value and it isnt even close to that! Is this a good deal? and if I go to trade this thing in after a year am I going to take a beating on it???
Keep in mind its absolutely MINT.....

You can go to www.edmunds.com and type in all the features, options, color, etc. of the car to determine if the price is on target. It's hard for us to know if the car is totally legit sitting here, but with the warranty, etc. it shouldn't be a problem. If you are that worried, you can "carfax" it if you know the VIN. It's www.carfax.com. Hope this helps. Oh, by the way....my 2005 C230 gets 33.5 mpg on the highway at a steady 60-65mph. Pretty good.

My own opinion would be that the greatest portion of the "depreciation" has already occurred, since it's a 2000, and that it's probably more important at this point that you are buying the car that you like and will enjoy driving for the next year. I think the small depreciation in the coming year shouldn't be a huge issue, if you follow my thinking. Yeah? This particular model holds it's value pretty well when measured against other vehicles, so........if you want it.......go for it.

I agree with MrCoyote. Go to www.edmonds.com and follow the steps to buy the car with the appropriate options. For example, the low mileage you quoted commands a $1345 premium, "outstanding" condition adds $976. I added four random options and the colour silver and the site kicked out $16672 if the vehicle is under some sort of warranty. Sounds like a fair deal but why not try for better anyway (like a longer "free" warranty). That's the fun of buying a car--lol. Good luck. Most of the depreciation was taken out of this age of car many years ago. If you add a lot of miles in the coming year the low mileage premium would obviously disappear.
