I have the same challenge. I've boiled it down to Avon Tech M550 A/S OR Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S. The Avon is a real sleeper (meaning not a lot of Americans know about these tires and they are a great value) at $80/per from TireRack The Michelin also gets good reviews and is a known quanity: $113/tire.

I ordered Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S from Discount Tires based on great reviews on various sites. I live in Chicago area and wanted something quite, yet better than OK in light snow.

Do you consider them quiet? Good in rain? Responsive to stearing input?

Why not use the tires that Mercedes gave you? I think they were Pirelle 6000. If not Pirelle, get General tire for a wagon.

RockSolid - The tires are on order and have not been installed yet. It will be sometime this week. I am looking forward to these tires as I ahve heard good things about them. Will post more info once I have had them.
