Default Please...! Please...! help ... steering problem

1992 300E Gas

I have spent close to $3,000 to fix this problem but the mechanics just want money without fixing the problem ...

My car steering wheel turns right or left whenever it goes over even a slightly uneven road. It feels like the internal mechanism of the steering turns the steering that I am holding left and right about 2-3 inches on either side. I have to keep reacting to this in order to keep the car straight. It makes the car very unstable to drive. As soon as the tires pass over a slightly uneven road, this gets conveyed to the steering that I am holding instead of it absorbing this movement and makes the steering turn right or left.

I have done the following.

Replaced front and rear shocks
Replaced tie-rod ends.
Allignment done 3 times
Tires rotated 4 times.
Tires balanced 3 times.
Changed all 4 tires to brand new continental extreme contacts
Tire are properly inflated as per factory specifications. Tried different psi numbers too but no effect.
Changed most of the bushings including the idler arm bushing.
Changed the steering filter and fluid
All suspension parts are stated to be OK.
Steering dampner replaced
Ball joints are fine as per mechanics and dealer.
Steering oil level is correct and does not recede. Belt is new too.
Had the car checked by several mecahnics including the dealership.
Everybody asks me to change this and that which just costs money but the original problem is still there as before.

Now one mechanic is saying that the steering is too tight and the car needs a new steering gear box. The steering does not have any play in it and seems to be tight like my other cars.

Please advice how to solve this problem and suggest ways to check if steering box is the problem.

Thanks in advance.

i don't know as to what extent of the problem you describe.

it sounds like a caster alignment problem, but as you say it was aligned already a few times.

the only other thing that can affect it was the steering box malfunction....but i haven't heard any of this case.

is the pitman arm adjustment on the correct position?
