I have a 99 C230K, same problem with sunroof. I continue to check for recalls. I have not found a recall on thisso far.

This problem is not unique to new cars. When the battery goes dead the roof synchronization needs to be re-set. I just did it on my car myself.
From the closed position of both the roof and interior blinds(on Panoramic roof) open the blinds and the roof by holding the switch. When the roof is completely open, again press the switch to open and HOLD the switch for a few seconds. On my roof I can hear a soft clunk.
Repeat the reverse process by closing the roof and the blind (if equipped) and again release then HOLD in the closed position for a few seconds. Again you may hear a soft clunk.
In my case the roof is now synchronized and works perfectly.
My car is a 2002 C230 coupe but the problem and the fault code sound the same.
Hope this helps. If not visit the dealer and make sure they tell you what they did to fix the problem.

I bought my 2009 C300 last November. The car is falling apart. I have a repair list of eight items already. There is a serious problem with the transmission, a rattle in the speedometer, a rattle in the right rear door, a rattle in the rear, a problem with the trunk lock, a wheel shake which is the result of about fifteen of the weights falling off the rim, but why go on? The engine seems fine however. I like the car very much, and still think it was the best choice among the other brands. I suppose that all of the makers have made cutbacks, but I would never say that the C300 is a good car at this point, perhaps average.

The sunroof issue in the w204 is corrected by a software update in the control unit. In certain cases, the control unit will require replacement. Like many problems on the w204 and all newer mercedes, they can be remedied through software updates.
