C280 gearbox into a C240??
Eek, not C280 but in fact C230, sorry about that.
I've 'happened' across a low mileage gearbox to which I can get off the owner for very little. It's only done 103000Km's and been serviced approx 4000K's ago. His car got tee boned in a car park and consequently written off. He pulled the motor and gear box and sold the rest.
What I need to know is:
Will a 1997 C230 (four cyl) Auto 5 speed box (complete with Torque convertor) be suitable for for my (or bolt up) to my 1998 C240 V6??
Think part number is 722.6
Thought I would grab it in case my box fails, cheaper than getting mine rebuild etc.
