[:@] Ok I have a 2004 C240 with exactly 46000 miles. Today when I hit 46000miles I was a stop light in Drive and the car wouldnt move. I shifted to Reverse and the shifter worked however the car wouldnt go into gear. I put it in drive again but it was as if the car was stuck in neutral. I towed it home and later It went into gear and drove 300ft and I put it in park and back in drive and I had the same prob. My Service B light has been on for a few months and since this incident today my check engine light came on. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

 

Seems a little new for transmission problems but I'd wager that the transmission has never been serviced-(don't believe the bull**** about "lifetime fill" as this relates to the transmission and read George Murphy's article in the STAR about often neglected maintenence items).Unless the car is older than I think, it may still be under warranty and as such, you should get it to a Mercedes dealer**** ASAP. The other alternative (Based on warranty or lack thereof) would be a good independent shop. Either one can scan your transmission. If it's not gunk in the trans, it's probably electrical.
