Hello, I am new to the forum, but glad you exist. My sister has a C230, either 2003 or 2004. Tonight, she went to start it, tuned the key and it made a loud "boom!" She thought her friend may have backed into her rear end. The car will not start nothing happens. She could not even lock the car because everything is electrical. Not looking forward to having to towed to a dealer tomorrow. She said it sounded like it "blew up." Any help is greatly appreciated so she does not look like a woman with no knowledge of cars. The security guard did say it appeared to be her battery, but she did not want to take any chances by having it jump started.

 

Battery cells can explode(had one do it),usually have some black smoke with it.Check all fuses and relays before hooking up new battery.
