C200 auto 2002 85k miles
problem is starting on key is intermittent - anyone know where to start looking. AA say battery is ok. Key fob has new battery. Still hit n miss on starting.... AA baffled, think it may be to do with diagnostics or starter motor. Any ideas please ??

Hello and welcome to the forum! Before spending any money on parts, pull the codes from the car. Even if you don't have a CEL, you'll likely have stored codes that should still give you a good idea as to where the issue is coming from. Let us know if you have any other questions.
