Default problem with comand center

Anyone experience this? I've got an '06 S55 and yesterday everything in the comand center just stopped working. The screen lights up when you hit 'power' but then after a few seconds it says "SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE" then it turns off. Doesn't matter if you try radio, CD, Nav, Service, Phone, etc. I tried resetting it from the service menu (had to race through the selections before the error message appeared) but it didn't help. Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks!

Default Command Center

Works off and on - back to off - comes up 'unavailable" and powers down.

Hoping someone out there might have gone through this and fixed it. I did try the battery disconnect.

Sometimes pulling fuses for the radio will get the radio working but you could also go to a dealer and a software flash that should fix the problem.
Doing a RESET in the cluster only resets customer settings to default such as seat, radio tuning, mph/km, and other radio settings. It has nothing to with hard resets to the engine or trans. It doesn't clear codes or reset the computers.

Default Command center

I was warned about disconnecting the battery in my 04 SL55 ,by the tech. Said you need to power down all the system sensors before doing so ,or they will go into default mode and eventual put you in limp home mode.
Your fix is going to be a re boot of your whole car, by MB or a shop equally equipped with the factory software.

Default System Unavailable

Did you get the "system unavailable" problem fixed? If so, what was the problem? I am having the same problem with my 05 SL500.
