I have a 1996 W210 with an Auto Aircon.
My problem is that when I turn on the A/C for about 3 mins, the blower air from the center vents shuts off and the air goes to the one on the windshield. This happens erratically.
The side A/C vents on the left and right are OK.
What can be the problem??

(A mechanic here says that he will permanently screw the vents going to the windshield shut and leave the center vents permanently open. This will be done by removing the whole dashboard!!)
