R129 CENTER front dash center strage bin

My 98 SL center storage bin at front dash doesnt open with key does anyone know or had same problem and know how to fix ?

if that is the small compartment above the ceter AC ducts...take it out, 3 phillips head screws and closely look at it...the spring/opening mechanism on the right (passenger's) side may have some problems
