starting problem/ possible VATS system

I have a 2001 S500 that have a starting problem. the vehicle has approximately 150k miles, however I have not exprienced any problems within the last 7yrs. until now. the problem appeared to be security related. all the lights, horn and remote switches work. If I allow the vehicle to sit, usually a day or so, all functions return normal. this problem seem to start when the remote locks are activated. please help.
