Default Peeling console and interior door handles on SLK 320

I've been reading the forum and I haven't found a remedy for repairing the peeling problem. I live in NJ and have a 2002 320 SLK red exterior w/black and sand interior. The interior was already peeling, but I further damaged the (sand) console & riser by thinking I could pull off all the rubberized spray paint. Some of the rubberized paint is hard to scrape off so my interior is a mess. I've gone to salavage websites, but they haven't gotten back to me with a used console and riser. I hope someone here can help me find the right solution. It's current condition is driving me crazy. If someone has successfully corrected this problem, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Default Peeling console & interior door handles

After much searching on the internet and finding nothing suitable, I contacted a dealer in NJ and they have a guy who restores the interior by using some kind of rubberized spray paint. Looks so much better but cost me $400. Btw, over time it could start peeling again!
